Chapter 51 - Trouble In Paradise

Delia could sense something wasn’t right between them.  She knew Goodwin resented having a baby at his age.  He spent a lot more time doing research and also began to work more nights.  Sometimes he was gone the entire night. He said he was undercover and can't just leave. He did finally begin to make a little money but never made time for Pierre or her for that matter.
They were starting to fight often. This just isn’t what she envisioned when they were in France.  He had always been so attentive.  It seems to have all started with baby Pierre.  Delia loved baby Pierre.  When she thought of him, she really did think of him as her French Souvenir and it brought back those wonderful happy memories. Maybe she just needed to be more understanding and make things as easy as possible for him. He didn't ask for a baby and was trying to make some money for them. Then, maybe their relationship could get back on the right track.

Goodwin continued to work at night and most times came home dressed in some weird getup. He was becoming more and more mysterious about what he was doing.

What Delia didn’t know was that Goodwin also had a secret that she wasn’t aware of. Things are never as they seem. Francisco was right, he was indeed a ghost hunter, but Delia still had no idea. She had to believe he worked undercover for the police department.

While Delia was out running errands, Goodwin called Jenni, his long time lover and the mother of his daughter Tiffani. He asked her to come by; Delia was gone for a few hours and he really needed to see her. Tiffani didn’t know Goodwin was her father and Jenni wouldn’t tell her until they got married – which they WERE going to do before little “Miss Ghost Baby” came to Twinbrook and forced their plans to go on hold.

When Jenni had found out that Delia was pregnant she became furious with Goodwin and was ready to call off his whole plan. She was done with him.

When she arrived he told her he loved her and what he was doing was for the three of them. He was close to finding Delia’s secret hiding place for the Ambrosia ingredients and the recipe and then he would be able to divorce her and they could be together. They would be rich beyond their wildest dreams and live forever.

When the plan for Goodwin to marry Delia was born, Jenni was not happy. She knew that he had seduced Delia, but didn't want him living with her. But Delia needed to trust him and he needed full access to the house so she reluctantly agreed. Before they were married, they were able to see one another often, but since the wedding, they hadn't seen each other for fear of getting caught. Goodwin missed her terribly.

When Goodwin reached for her, she wanted nothing to do with it. She was hurt and wasn't sure she believed him. He had impregnated little "Miss Ghost Baby". “No Goode, get your hands off of me!” she yelled at him.

He continued to explain, "Jenni, the baby was unplanned. Delia needed to trust me. We are married and had a honeymoon. It was the perfect opportunity to find out more about how Alex became a rare Ghost Child.  I couldn't not be with her. Delia has so many secrets and there is likely a ghost that haunts this house. Please, Jen, understand, a child was never part of any plan; we never even discussed it and if she had brought it up I would have said no! I had to be with her, she wouldn’t believe it otherwise. Jenni, I love YOU, not her. I haven't been with her since I found out about the baby. I try to stay away as much as possible."  "Yes, Goode," said Jenni sarcastically, "baby Pierre, how sweet."

Just being near Goodwin lowered her defenses.  Jenni always had a soft spot for him and his crazy schemes. After listening to his diatribe, she softened and her love for him prevailed. She let him kiss her and they reignited their passion for each other.

Jenni knew he loved her when he passionately and urgently made love to her right there in the witch's home. It delighted her that he took her in Delia's bed.

Afterwards, he kissed her and told her he would see her tomorrow night after work at her place. She happily agreed. His mood was immensely better after seeing Jenni and at the prospect of seeing her again. He just had to find Delia's secret hiding places. He knew he needed to work on that relationship. It was just so hard to keep pretending. But now that Jenni was back in his life, he could do it. He had missed her so much.
