Chapter 21 - An Ethereal Dream

Whenever Delia was sad, she would sit in her now favorite chair, the rocker. She had spent many happy hours in that very chair rocking her children and the back and forth motion continued to comfort her. She was exhausted, lonely and emotionally drained, but very happy for Daniel. She missed Francisco more than she could imagine.

As she rocked she dozed off and began to dream of Francisco. She dreamed he was in the room there with her again. She got up out of the rocker when he came to her. It seemed very, very real except his touch was cool and he was more of a pale blue version of himself.  It was as if she knew he wasn't really there, but she could see and touch him. It was comforting. Then, in her dream, he pulled her to him, kissed her gently and carried her to their - now her - bed where he made sweet love to her. No words were even spoken.

She woke up the next morning in her own bed and reached over for Francisco, like she had done a hundred times before and then realized with a start that it was all just a dream when her hand touched the cool sheets. However, she was not quite sure how she got to her bed. She had fallen asleep in her rocker. Yes, she figured she must have been very tired to have come to bed and not remembered.

The dream still seemed so real and vivid even though a bit bizarre.  Delia could still feel him touching her so much so she had almost convinced herself it was real. But then that would mean she was crazy. No. She needed to pull herself together. Daniel’s wedding was fast approaching. It must have triggered feelings from her wedding day to cause such a vivid dream.
