Delia pushed on with her life. She didn't tell anyone what she knew about Nicholas. No need for Aiden to think he was an unfortunate accident. Time was flying by and Aiden was soon a teenager.
Aiden had grown into gangly and nerdy teenager, but sweet just the same. They celebrated his 16th birthday with Francie and Nate and baby Nick.

Baby Nick was the cutest little boy ever.
Not long after Aiden became a teenager, he began to experience headaches. He had an overwhelming urge to move his hands a certain way which resulted in ‘conjuring’ apples out of thin air. This seemed to help his headaches so he continued to practice it and was getting better at making apples. He didn't tell his mom.
One day after school he stopped at the elixir store. He felt a strong pull to go there. He saw the magic wands and asked the clerk about them. She asked him his name and when he told her Aiden Riverhawk, she just smiled and said she had just the one for him. He began to play with it making sparkles and sparks that sometimes made things happen. So far he had kept this a secret from his mother. She didn't do these things and wouldn't understand.
Delia confronted Aiden when she saw him with the wand waving
it around. It terrified her. She asked where he got it and he wouldn't tell her which made her even madder. She wasn’t equipped to help Aiden discover
what he had been accidentally born into. She yelled at him and told him he was forbidden to use the wand and to
make magic. She told him Magic could be used for Evil
and was unpredictable if you didn’t understand what you were doing. He could hurt Nick or even himself if he
wasn’t careful. This didn’t settle well
with Aiden. He needed the headaches to
stop. And magic was the only way. He would just practice when his mom wasn’t
snooping around.
