Chapter 128 - Alia & Jaycen

Alia and Jaycen's wedding day had arrived and everyone was getting ready. Stone's wings had grown to where they were visible. Cordell thought they were cute, but Corrie insisted on teasing her little brother about them making him cry. Cordell decided to make it his mission to keep Stone close for the wedding. Even though he was almost too big to carry around, he did it anyway.

They had moved furniture around the house and brought in decorations to make it as nice as possible. Since the couple wasn't having a big wedding like Jewel, Delia had insisted they go all out. Cordell realized Delia was bending over backwards to ensure Alia and Jaycen knew that were fully accepted. She didn't want any of her children to feel alienated. Delia had finally come to terms with the fact that she was going to be the only one in the family that was 'human'. But Cordell disagreed. Delia was special and she just didn't realize it yet.

Alia was stunning as any bride should be on her wedding day. When they arrived, Jaycen was nervous. Not because he was marrying the love of his life, but because he would have to face her entire family in one fell swoop. Alia grabbed some of her mom's best wine and gave him a drink to calm his nerves before the photographer started posing them for shots.

The one thing that stood out for Delia was the change in her daughter's eyes. She no longer had the deep blue eyes of her father, but the light glowing eyes of a wolf. They looked like her eyes, except they glowed.

First the bride alone....

Next some of the happy couple....

Jaycen got playful and grabbed Alia for an impromptu kiss which the photographer captured

And more candid shots...

Finally it was time for the ceremony.

Alia and Jaycen said their vow and exchanged rings.

They sealed their vows with a sweet kiss...

Everyone cheered and threw rice on the happy couple.

Cake cutting followed the ceremony while the rest of the family looked on and the photographers captured the event.

Jaycen was relieved it over and Alia was now officially his wife.

Alia sat down with her father and Angie while Jaycen went to get a second piece of cake. "Daddy, thank you so much for this. The house is lovely. You made this a day that Jaycen and I will always look back on as one of the best days of our lives."

"Don't thank me sweetheart. This was all your mother's doing."

Delia joined Jewel and Donnovan to have their refreshments.

"Mom, are you doing okay?" asked Jewel, "How is Mira? Is she sleeping all night yet?"

Delia said seriously, "I don't know. Your father promised me he would do night feedings if I left him - uh - intact."

Jewel nearly spit our her cake and Donnovan froze mid bite. Then they all three busted out laughing when they realized she was teasing.

Corrie couldn't help but feel jealous of her older sisters. They had all found love while still in school. Graduation for her was imminent but she really didn't love the guy she had been seeing.

She watched Joy and Sahan making out right in front of everyone. Jewel and Donnovan only had eyes for each other and Alia just married the man she had been dating for several years. It wasn't fair. She might have to try our her mind control to find her own lover and not that geek that has been chasing her for the past two years.

After everyone had cake they all went downstairs to dance. Cordell loved dancing with his pretty lady and they stole the show.

Jaycen and Angie watched them in awe. Jaycen complemented them on their moves and said he was going to retrieve his wife so they could learn from the masters. Delia and Cordell were so in tune to each other they didn't even acknowledge his comments. He laughed and went to find Alia. It was time to leave.
Jaycen found his bride and asked if she was ready to go. She eagerly agreed. As they took their leave, the only evidence that the happy couple were not human was the glow of their eyes in the dark. One amber and the other silvery blue.

On the way home from work the day after Alia's wedding, Joy began to feel strange. She tried to make it all the way home but stopped just short of her front door as her body began to change.

It was painful for her but at the same time, exhilarating. Suddenly Joy felt powerful. After an hour or so she finally felt like she could go home. But things were different. She could see things clearly even though it was dark outside. She hurried home to Sahan. She needed to be near him and now.

Joy found her husband in the nursery where he had just laid Jerald down after tending to the little baby's needs.

"Sahan! Look at me. Do I look different? I think I have grown fangs!" exclaimed Joy.

"Shhhh. You are going to wake Jerald. I just got him to sleep."

Joy grabbed Sahan so she could talk softer. "Sorry," whispered Joy. "But baby, please tell me. Have I changed? Do I look different? I think I have - um - fangs."

Sahan hugged his wife, "Come, let's leave the nursery before we wake up our little prince," said Sahan, always the voice of reason.

Sahan let Joy go first then gently closed the door behind him as he followed his wife into the next room.

"Now, let me look at my beautiful wife. Open your mouth please and let me check," instructed Sahan. Joy opened her mouth and said, "See..."

"Ohhh, what big teeth you have said Little Red Riding Hood to the big bad wolf," teased Sahan.

"They are there?"

"Yes baby. The transformation is complete. But when? I wanted to be with you. How do you feel?"

"It happened just now, before I could make it inside and I feel ... powerful!"

Sahan wiggled his eyebrows..."Hmmm, then I should take you to bed now so you can show me just how powerful you really are my love."

Stone's birthday was finally here. Cordell did the honors and helped his son reach up to blow out the candles. Stone was not happy his father was treating him like a baby. "Daddy, I can do it myself. Mira is a baby, I am a big boy!"  Cordell laughed but didn't put him down. He was right. He was growing up so fast.

Stone was a very handsome child and was going to be a clone of his father - in looks only. He had just recently learned how to hide his wings. Mostly because Corrie constantly teased him.

His parents got him a train set for his birthday. As he watched the train go around and in and out of the tunnels, Stone wished that he was small enough to take a ride.

Cordell wasn't sure exactly when fairies began to develop their powers. He needed to talk to Foster again to find out. The more he knew the better he could guide his only son.
Stone was learning on his own that he could 'do' cool things. He didn't think they were weird but wanted to show his mother.

"Mommy!" called out Stone as he found Delia in her now regular workout session with Angie and Corrie. "Look what I can do!"

Stone turned in a circle as fast as he could and disappeared. But he didn't really disappear, he shrunk.

Delia was taken aback at first and then she realized this must be part of the 'fairy' powers. He had turned into a sprite for lack of a better description. She tried her best to remain calm and positive. This is what Stone was born into and she would NOT make it be a bad thing.

"Stone, baby," she asked timidly, "is that you?"

Then she heard this giggle and he started darting around her teasing her.

Then finally, Stone returned to his normal form but was was levitated above the ground before finally floating gently down but not before he did a backwards flip in the air.

"Wow!" said Delia. "That was awesome. Have you shown Daddy your tricks yet?"

"No, he was on the phone so I didn't want to bother him. It's cool isn't it?"

"Very cool baby. But we need to let your father know before you show anyone else. Okay? Promise Stone?"

Stone looked deflated. "Okay Mommy." Then he asked, "When can we talk to Daddy?'

"I will tell him and then we can all talk. Okay?"

"Okay. But can I ride my train? Nobody will see."

"Train?" asked Delia thinking he was playing pretend, "Sure."

"YESSSSS!" squealed Stone and ran to his room to ride on his train.
